The Enforcement Directorate has carried out search operations under the PMLA at 21 premises in Chhattisgarh. Along with this, property in Jharkhand is also under investigation. As it is suspected of the smuggling of foreign-origin gold and other precious metals through numerous channels from Bangladesh.

During the search operation, they found unaccounted gold bullion weighing 3,825 grams along with gold ornaments weighing 12,810 grams, silver of 671 kg, and cash of Rs 1.41 crore. The documents pertaining to the sale and purchase of gold and silver have been recovered and seized.
